Who Better to sing The Declaration of Independence than The Fifth Dimension?

I learned this song in 8th grade choir! Believe it or not, I still remember most of it, and I remember the entire meaning. The Fifth Dimension was one of my family’s favorite groups and we listened to their music often.

I find it interesting that “we are endowed by our Creator…”, not g.o.d., “with certain unalienable (nice choice of word with what at the center!) rights.”

Interesting, isn’t it…the 5th Dimension singing …it is our right, it is our duty…using prudence, to throw off despotic government….

Sing it with me, now  :-)

Here’s to freedom everyone with love love love!

  1. This is awesome! Thanks Elz! Was there a Grammar Rock version too? Seems there should have been :). But yes, so cool to hear The Fifth Dimension singing to us our instructions as left to us by our founders – about our duty to lead together. I just watched the film 1776 – my Dad took me to see that film at Radio City Hall in NYC when I was about 8 yrs old. Thanks Elz, for the bring-back for me to what Independence Day is all about.

    1. Thanks, Gerry! There is a School House Rock on Independence Day, but the one I know is cute, not very close to accurate other than we said, No thanks, to King George! And how great of your dad taking you to see 1776! I’m going to refer back to your post last month —

for a nice Independence Day bookend :-)! The time is here to stretch our wings once again, declare and assert our sovereignty, and secure our safety and happiness, isn’t it?! Happy to be here at this time making connections with such fine folks :-)))
